Picolo captures so much of these characters in his snapshots: Tim Drake and Connor Hawke flip peace signs at the camera, both very excited and too cool to be there Jon Kent and boyfriend Jay Nakamura grin for their shot, Jon glancing down adorably at his sweetie and long-suffering mage John Constantine looks like he wants to be anywhere else, but he’s still sporting a bi pride necktie. ![]() One thing DC’s Pride specials have done a great job of is adding to their characters’ rich personal lives, connecting them via realistic shared communities that in turn bolster the narratives contained in their ongoing tales of derring-do. Similarly, it’s hard not to feel a little pang at Gabriel Picolo’s quiet but vibrant wraparound variant cover showing Polaroids of various characters at parades and various events laid atop a Progress Pride flag.
